The rain has stopped for a while, it has been raining for almost two days now, the first rain in Tel Aviv this "winter". it's not even cold but I still feel close to being ill. I can't shake this feeling since coming back to Israel, a month ago, after 5 weeks in Europe. It really seems that this place has a possesing-stressing-exhusting effect on me. I'm tired almost all the time. Mira told me yesterday to do meditation every morning. She really looks so much better now. I wonder, is that the prize for detaching from activism and politics? and if so, what are we doing to ourselves while trying to change the world..? On the other hand, Yael's exhilaration this morning telling me ecstatically over the phone that she won her first appeal against the state trying to censor a subversive film, does put some credit for what social transformation can do for our souls. Oh yeah but she does meditation all the time. a real Buddhist activist.
Three and half years ago I bought my (first) digi camera, my coolpix 990. Almost first thing I did with it was employing it for, or actually inventing "Item 52" for it. It has become essential in my bag, collecting images for the itemz to be sent later on, documenting actions, demonstrations, exhibitions, friends.. Last week, out of a whim, I posted a sale-ad in a used cameras' forum. After a few hours it was sold. Just before the man left with my camera I took the last picture with it. Yesterday, while opening it I realized it was the 8,765th picture I took with the camera. Activist camera. Taking pictures of flowers and bugs in macro from now on. Maybe she (coolpix 990) prefers it better than chasing policemen beating up demonstrators in wide angle..? Maybe she's doing meditation now in her new bourgeois home, relaxing from macro flower to macro bug?

anyways, she earned it.
Thank you for all these pictures. byebye.........
