It's
the birth of the moon, beginning of the Jewish month Av. I was born
on the second of Av, and Dana brought it to my attention tonight that
I'm actually a Leo according to Jewish astrology, that my birthday
occurs also on Monday eve and Tuesday, so I actually think of the
whole Friday to Tuesday package as my ongoing birthday/new beginning
event this week. It's consoling thinking that not only Saturday was
the symbolic first day of my next year and I can look at these five
days and extract other feelings and activities as showing a symbolic
course for the coming times. Av is father in Hebrew, just thought
about a father these days, have I ever written I grew up fatherless
since I was almost 3 years old? Just told this to P. yesterday after
she wrote her father died on Monday. according to Kabala the Av month
is in Father sign, Dana said that you should be father like in this
month; leading, protecting; a Leo. I guess it couldn't hurt; I should
be very patient and compassionate, especially these weeks, while producing
my students' exhibition. I shouldn't be surprised that the song that's
playing just now while writing these lines is 'Your Father', even
made a screen shot, as a visual evidence for symbolism, remember I
was writing about it two items ago? In a conversation with Nat last
week I called this 'plak'; a word invented by a friend to describe
extraordinary and improbable coincidences. I also spoke about intuition
with Dana tonight. Sometimes plaks are extensions of intuitions. They
also tend to happen more and in a more symbolic way as you notice
them more and give them some thought.
