Today is the longest day of the year. Tonight the moon will rise at 19:27 in the east. Twenty minutes later the sun will set in the west. Then, at 05:18 the moon will set in the west. Sixteen minutes later the sun will rise in the east. I plan to sit on a high hill and watch the earth’s spin make them chase each other. Yesterday I went for a little exploration bicycle ride outside my village/neighborhood. I climbed on the hills above my house. Looking down it almost looked like a little Swiss village with all these red roofs and green trees, but when you shift your eyes a little to the sides you see the desert surrounding it, smooth hills covered loosely with dry golden grass. A fast gazelle was running away as two combat planes were pushing their limits above us. The horizon was vast and clear. I was alone.
It’s officially summer now even though it’s been summer here long before today, it’s officially 9 months since I started counting moon months, even though this “pregnancy” isn’t over yet. Today melancholy came to visit again and sadness sat in my throat and stomach, reminding me of the process and of what I’m missing.

Recently I started taking pictures with my new phone’s camera. I love its really shitty quality, saturated colors and minimal definition. Given the right subject, results become poetic.
